 Hi Friends! My name is Melody.

 I recieved my 200hr RYT certification in 2015 from Boulevard Yoga in Kansas City MO and have since accumulated over 1,800 hours of teaching experience. I currently live in South East Texas and teach in multiple gyms, community centers, and studios. I offer a Yoga for Athletes program with the Soft Ball and Basket Ball teams at Lamar State College and offer private lessons and special events in partnership with other businesses and locations throughout Southeast Texas. Some of my very favorite recurring community events are Brew Yoga at the Neches Brewing Company and Beach Yoga at Sea Rim State Park. I recently launched my own workshop series, Restore & Recoop. This is a slow moving, deep stretch and recovery class to help you sooth whatever ails you. We focus on relieving tension through stretch, rotation, self massage, and micro- facial release to help prevent and recover from injury, stress, and fatigue on your body and mind. I love leading this workshop at local gyms, offices, schools, and even yoga festivals. On top of all that, I am the founder of Twisted Tykes Family Yoga- a yoga and creative movement program that has weekly family and kid’s classes at the Groves Activity Building as well as community events throughout the area. 2018 brought so many big changes and leaps in my MBYoga offerings. I offered my very first yoga challenge; 30 to 30! Through that project, I was able to create MB Yoga To Go; a Social Media Subscription Series to help you take your practice where ever you roam.  It is the perfect mix of yoga videos and private lessons. I made my second trip back to Amorgos, this time teaching at ELYSIA and I just can't wait to be back for round 3 in 2019! I was also able to bring my yoga back to it’s roots when I taught at the Heartland Yoga Festival in Kansas City MO. This beautiful 3 day event is the premier festival in the Midwest and I am so grateful that I was able to be a part of it’s inaugural year. When I’m not teaching yoga, I work with Special Needs  Education Programs and spend my summers working in Children’s Theatre. I also watch lots of Netflix on my bed snuggled up with my kitten and desperately love margaritas, theatre, the beach, my garden, and spending all of my time either in airplanes or by the ocean – preferably with a good book. In my classes, I offer a mindful Vinyasa and Hatha practices that focus on meditation and movement. I love being able to use yoga to create community and connection where ever I am and I am so proud to continue to be a part of ELYSIA, which does exactly that! -MB
